The classic and most efficient drying unit. Its main advantage is its versatility. In a drum dryer, it is possible to dry raw materials of almost any size from 100 microns (microns) to pieces (lumps) of 10-50 mm in size, and an initial moisture content of up to 70-80%. But nevertheless, it is desirable to squeeze alcohol stillage and brewer's grains to 60-65% moisture before drying. This will significantly (1.5-2 times) reduce the amount of funds required for capital investments and will reduce the cost of drying by approximately 2-2.5 times.
FEATURES OF OUR DRYERS:
Our drying drums can be aggregated with heat generators operating both on gaseous fuel (natural gas, propane-butane mixture), liquid (diesel fuel, fuel oil, various synthetic boiler / furnace fuels, coal-water fuel), solid (wood-burning furnaces, coal furnaces, pulverized coal blowing).
Heat generators operating on natural gas are the easiest to maintain and technologically advanced. They are fully automated and do not require constant monitoring.
The only drawback is the cost of natural gas in Ukraine. The cost of drying is noticeably higher than when working on solid fuels or liquid. The most significant savings can be achieved using solid fuel heat generators.
Among them, the best price / cost ratio x manufacturability has a pulverized coal-fired heat generator.
And the most cost-effective is a heat generator operating on briquettes / pellets from sunflower husk or lumpy brown coal. However, they have significant disadvantages.
IMPORTANT:
1. The main disadvantage is the pollution of combustion products, which makes the use of solid fuel unacceptable in many cases. The presence of a large amount of ash, a strong smell of combustion products make it impossible to use solid fuel for drying food and feed materials. Exit - installation of a heat exchanger. Also, all solid fuel heat generators require a stoker for timely fuel supply and ash removal. Process automation cannot always solve this problem, or it is very expensive for many customers. When using a wood-fired heat generator, it is necessary to constantly monitor the moisture content of the incoming firewood, otherwise the required thermal power for the drying process will be impossible. It also requires a permanent large warehouse for firewood and a firewood preparation area (unloading, sawing, sorting). For example, for a heat generator with a capacity of 1-1.5 MW, the required amount of firewood is 25-36 cubic meters. per day, which is equivalent to 1 truck. Thus, it turns out that, depending on the wishes and needs of the customer, the type of heat generator used is not always obvious. Sometimes it is more expedient to install a heat generator that runs on diesel fuel, or on natural gas and not have unnecessary trouble.
2. Also, in addition to the heat generator, for the operation of the drying drum, a smoke exhauster is needed, which ensures the suction of the necessary air for combustion, its passage through the drying drum, cyclone and the evacuation of evaporated moisture. For each capacity in tons per hour, taking into account humidity at the inlet and outlet of the drying drum, rheological properties of the material, porosity, etc., a smoke exhauster is specially calculated, designed and manufactured with the required parameters.
3. The third necessary element for the correct conduct of the drying process of materials is the presence of a dust-precipitating cyclone . The cyclone parameters depend on the performance of the drying drum, the amount of moisture removed from the material, the type of heat generator. Therefore, in each individual case, depending on the configuration, we select the cyclones individually.
