Our company has the ability to design and manufacture, at the request of the customer, a drying drum for drying gypsum, as well as kilns for burning gypsum with a capacity of 1 ton per hour to 25 tons per hour. Our gypsum drying drums can be aggregated with heat generators operating both on gaseous fuel (natural gas, propane-butane mixture), liquid (diesel fuel, fuel oil, various synthetic boiler / furnace fuels, coal-water fuel), solid (wood-burning furnaces, coal furnaces , installation of pulverized coal injection). Heat generators operating on natural gas are the easiest to maintain and technologically advanced. They are fully automated and do not require constant monitoring.


The only drawback is the cost of natural gas in Ukraine. The cost of drying on gaseous fuels is noticeably higher, approximately 2-4 times, than when working on solid fuels or liquid. The most significant savings can be achieved using solid fuel heat generators. Among them, the best price / cost ratio * technological effectiveness is possessed by a pulverized coal-fired heat generator. And the most economical are heat generators operating on briquettes from sunflower husk and / or lumpy (25-100mm) brown coal. The cost of drying when using a heat generator on sunflower husk briquettes is 3-4 times lower than when using a heat generator on natural gas.  



However, they have significant disadvantages.

1. So, for example, all solid fuel heat generators require the constant presence of a stoker, for the timely supply of fuel and ash removal. And when using a wood-fired heat generator, it is necessary to constantly monitor the moisture content of the incoming firewood, otherwise the necessary  thermal power for the drying process will be difficult. It also requires a permanent large warehouse for firewood and a firewood preparation area (unloading, sawing, sorting). For example, for a heat generator with a capacity of 1-1.5 MW, the required amount of firewood is 25-36 cubic meters. per day, which is equivalent to 1 truck. However, if you work on briquettes of sunflower husk or uur coal in pieces of 20-50 mm, the amount of fuel required for a heat generator with a capacity of 1-1.5 MW will be 5.5-8 tons per day or 5-8 big bags with fuel, which no longer requires large areas for fuel storage and preparation. Thus, it turns out that, depending on the wishes and needs of the customer, the type of heat generator used is not always obvious. Sometimes it is more expedient to install a heat generator that runs on diesel fuel, or on natural gas and not have unnecessary trouble.

2. In addition to the heat generator for the operation of the drying drum, a smoke exhauster is needed, which ensures the suction of the necessary air for combustion, its passage through the drying drum, cyclone and the evacuation of moisture evaporated from gypsum. For each capacity in tons per hour, taking into account humidity at the inlet and outlet of the drying drum, rheological properties of gypsum, porosity, etc., a smoke exhauster is specially calculated, designed and manufactured with the required parameters.

3. The third necessary element for the correct conduct of the gypsum drying process is the presence of a dust-precipitating cyclone. Dry gypsum is a highly dusty material and therefore requires a dust settling system. The cyclone parameters depend on the performance of the drying drum, the amount of moisture removed from the material, the type of heat generator. Therefore, in each individual case, depending on the configuration, we select the cyclones individually ..
